Hi, I’m Christina.
I’ve spent years helping storytellers of all kinds refine their ideas, from journalists to indie filmmakers and artists.
I’ve been a movie buff and experimental filmmaker since my teens. After receiving an MFA in Film and Video from Bard College, I went to work as an assistant in advertising post-production, but I got my real start as a video editor at In the Life, an LGBTQ+ news show on PBS. My collaborations with other queer filmmakers led to work as an assistant editor and then editor of both documentary and indie films.
For the past several years, I’ve worked as the video editor for The Story Exchange, a nonprofit media site dedicated to elevating women’s voices with a focus on entrepreneurs and climate solutions. Recent videos have won Best Short Video awards from the Newswomen's Club of New York and the Association of Business Journalists. In 2022-2023, I was a Karen Schmeer Film Editing Fellow.
I believe that editing is really about listening: listening to my collaborators and listening to what the footage is telling you. From there, you can discover the story, and help it evolve.
Listening is a skill I work on both in my personal art practice and as a mentor in my local artistic community, and it’s what I do as an editor as well. My job isn’t to impose a vision, but to help you shape yours. I love collaboration and following the trail through interviews, B-roll, archival and found footage...you name it. It takes time to tell your story and I’ll help you get there. I’m open to all kinds of projects, but the ones closest to my heart are short documentaries that center around the environment, artists, women, the LGBTQ+ community, and aligned nonprofit missions. Whether you’re a seasoned director, a first-timer, or simply sifting through home movies, let’s work together.
